How to cure LTBI with help of Ayurveda

A two-day workshop on Latent Tuberculosis (LTBI) and dissemination of information about successful treatment of Tuberculosis (TB) in the country began on December 1 at the All India Institute of Ayurveda under the Ministry of AYUSH.

Ayurvedic medical officers from Delhi and Haryana are participating in this seminar and people from all the forums of the country are also becoming part of it through the live platform of social media. Not only the country but a large population of the world is suffering from LTBI, in which TB bacteria live in the dormant state in the body and to prevent this, it is necessary to get various blood tests or TST tests done and if any test is positive then x-ray is necessary. Apart from this, information about latent tuberculosis infection and Ayurvedic management will be given in the workshop. In the two-day workshop on understanding the disease and its treatment and management, information will be given in various sessions. Apart from this, information about various TB related schemes of the Ministry of AYUSH and The Ministry of Health will be given. Discussions will also be held on how to take Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s TB free India campaign to the masses. Ayurveda can contribute to a TB-free India and case studies and beneficiaries will also be brought in front of the country and the world at the All India Institute of Ayurveda. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Tanuja Manoj Nesri, Director of the Institute said, “We are on track to eliminate TB by 2025 under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister and Ayurveda is capable of playing an important role in this field. Appreciating the efforts of the Ministry of AYUSH, he said that the All India Institute of Ayurveda will infuse new energy towards global resolutions in the fight against diseases like TB.

It is worth mentioning that efforts have been made for a long time in the direction of information, management and diagnosis of TB in the institute and there has been a lot of success in it. A large number of eminent experts who are associated with both Ayurveda and Allopathy are participating in this workshop. A pledge for a TB-free India was also taken on the occasion. Dr. Raghuram Rao, Joint Director, Central TB Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Prof. Anand More, Dean were also present on the occasion. Dr. Jonah and Dr. Divya Kajaria coordinated the program.
