New Delhi: Senior journalist Deepak Upadhyay was honoured with the AYUSH Award for his contribution to journalism and the promotion of Ayurveda on the occasion of Bhagwan Dhanvantari Jayanti in New Delhi.

Dr. P.K. Prajapati, Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), one of India’s leading institutions dedicated to Ayurveda, presented a certificate of appreciation to Deepak Upadhyay in recognition of his efforts to promote awareness and understanding of Ayurveda through journalism.

Deepak Upadhyay has been actively working towards promoting Ayurveda and traditional Indian systems of medicine through his digital news platform, AyurvedIndian.com. The website has emerged as a dedicated news platform covering important developments, policies, initiatives and issues related to Ayurveda and the broader AYUSH sector.

Speaking on the occasion, Upadhyay said that India’s traditional systems of medicine represent a valuable healthcare heritage with growing global relevance. He emphasised that increasing awareness, scientific research and wider public engagement are essential to expanding the acceptance of Ayurveda internationally.

“India’s traditional systems of medicine have immense potential and are among the most advanced knowledge systems developed over centuries. People across the world are increasingly recognising their value and adopting these practices. Yoga, which is an integral part of India’s traditional wellness heritage, has already gained worldwide acceptance. Now, other traditional healthcare practices are also attracting growing global attention,” Upadhyay said.

He added that AyurvedIndian.com would continue its efforts to provide reliable information, highlight important developments and increase public awareness about Ayurveda and other AYUSH systems of medicine.

The recognition highlights the important role of journalism and digital media in communicating developments in traditional medicine, healthcare policies, research and innovation to a wider audience.

With growing international interest in holistic healthcare, Ayurveda and other Indian systems of medicine are receiving increasing attention. Platforms such as AyurvedIndian.com aim to bridge the information gap by bringing developments in the AYUSH sector to readers, healthcare professionals and policymakers.

Upadhyay reaffirmed his commitment to continuing efforts to strengthen awareness of India’s traditional healthcare heritage and its growing contribution to global wellness.
