Following the devastating floods in Assam, the Kamla Ankibai Ghamandiram Gowani Trust has stepped up its relief efforts to support affected families. The assistance drive is being carried out continuously under the leadership of Trustee Mrs. Nidarshana Gowani.

Under the Trust’s initiative, “Kamla with Assam,” volunteers remain actively engaged on the ground, reaching flood-affected areas across the state. Relief supplies are being distributed in areas including Jorhat and Sivasagar, with essential household and personal-use items being provided to affected families.

The relief kits include plates, glasses, utensils, frying pans, spoons, sanitary pads, candles, matchboxes, mosquito-protection products and other essential supplies needed by families during the challenging circumstances.

As part of her continued engagement with Assam, Mrs. Nidarshana Gowani met Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma and briefed him on the relief initiatives being undertaken by the Trust. The Trust has also contributed to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, reaffirming its commitment to supporting relief, rehabilitation and recovery efforts in the state.

Speaking about the initiative, Mrs. Nidarshana Gowani said, “Our volunteers continue to remain on the ground and are working to ensure that essential relief reaches flood-affected families. Our priority at this difficult time is to stand with the people of Assam. Relief is the first step. As the situation improves, Kamla Trust will also come forward wherever needed to support reconstruction and rehabilitation. We will continue to stand with Assam through this difficult journey.”

The Trust has also appealed to citizens to come forward and contribute to relief efforts for flood-affected families. Collective participation, it said, can further strengthen relief operations and help ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most.

Kamla Trust will continue its relief efforts in the coming days. The situation on the ground will be assessed continuously to identify areas where additional support can make a meaningful difference to affected communities.
