A new variant of chickenpox has emerged in the country. The first case was reported from Kozhikode district of Kerala. The Clad 1 to 5 variants were previously common in Indian adults and children. But now this new variant of chickenpox has been detected about Clade 9, which has been discovered by scientists of the Indian Council of Medical Research-National Institute of Virology.
